Hello guys,

I was wondering if it's possible to port rockbox to other kind of players.

I have an cheap and popular nameless mp3 player (
http://www.wilson.co.ltd.xfou.com/ ) based on SigmaTel STMP3505 chip, and I
am very upset with the bundled FW (poor ID3, number of files limit, no
playlists...). If there is a way of building my own FW, like a Rockbox port,
I would be pleased if you guys show me the way of how to do that.

Thanks for the attention and sorry for the annoyance,

Hey Ian!

Man, at the time, that xfou page was the ONLY non-selling reference to the "S1 mp3 player" name on google. :)

It took a time to realise that there were NO official page for them :)

And LOL :) I made a research before opening my player, and thought it was sigmatel based .. when I opened and saw an ATJ2085 ... shock!! :)

So, we are more than one year old ... man, how time runs fast!! :)

Not to mention what we achieved.

We went from "some knowleadgable fans with a few firmwares" to "Blooming community with hundreds of firmwares and active developers for the best firmware ever"

Quite a commendable effort I'd say.

And remember Wladston, you made the first snowflake, and now look at the avalanche go!
Nice one!

i think they said something like "we need more hardware information, find x, y and z"

and then I builded up the first s1mp3 site trying to find the info ...

I think the people in there are not that receptive, I'm not going to email them again.
