i have a problem

Postby jpablo » Wed Mar 07, 2007 5:57 am

hello
i have a problem with this

i installed wmp9 correctly then i run InstMsiA.exe and it gets installed, but when i run setup.exe i get a window that says this:
Windows Installer is not present or version is too low on this computer.
Setup will install windows Installer2.0 now.
After install windows Installer 2.0, please run setup again
|Ok|

and then i hit "Ok" but another error window appears and it says
Service exists

edit:
i'll answer myself
i managed to install amvtools by doing:
Code: Select all
wine ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/Installer/InstMsi0/msiexec.exe /i MSIen.msi

but now when i make: wine amvtransform.exe i get this error:
err:module:import_dll Library MFC42.DLL (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\MP3 Player Utilities 3.68\\AMVTools\\transdll.dll") not found
err:module:import_dll Library transdll.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\MP3 Player Utilities 3.68\\AMVTools\\amvtransform.exe") not found
err:module:import_dll Library MFC42.DLL (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\MP3 Player Utilities 3.68\\AMVTools\\amvtransform.exe") not found
err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\Program Files\\MP3 Player Utilities 3.68\\AMVTools\\amvtransform.exe" failed, status c0000135

but i have mfc42.dll in system32 and it's registered (i used regsvr32 mfc42.dll)

yet another edit:

well turns out that i had to copy mfc42.dll to the amv converter directory... now i can run it

I have an amv converter for Linux. No problems with wine anymore. :-) It's actually the only s1 tool for Linux I found, which I find to be frustrating... Well, anyway, the website of the producer of the software is currently down (http://www.bytessence.com), as I'm writing, so I wanted to upload it here, but it says the file is big... But you can find a version of the software at http://www.mympxplayer.org/bytessence-a ... df731.html

Some tips: After unpacking the archive, you have to make executable both the bamvc file and the ffmpeg file (in "core" subdir). No need to install or compile anything.
It depends on some gtk2 libs, if you have Gnome it should not be a problem.
You might must have ffmpeg installed on your system yet, to get this work, but I'm not sure about this...

I hope this helps. It helped me.

well working native solution for AMV converting on Linux

Postby wasi » Mon Feb 04, 2008 3:39 pm

There is a very well working native solution for AMV converting on Linux. The OpenSource project is hosted by Google code.
The command-line tool is able to do hardly every possible conversion and is quite fast.
It works also on Windows!

http://code.google.com/p/amv-codec-tools/

For whom it's to complicated another solution for AMV converting on Linux and Mac (!) is to use the online converter on http://media-convert.com/convert/.

(I added explanation to this processes to the wiki http://wiki.s1mp3.org/Video_encoding)
