Random newb questions

Postby ChaoAbOrdo » Thu Jun 21, 2007 1:18 pm

1.I bought my "Mp4" player recently, and I was wondering, even if it is stated otherwise on site, is there any way of making it play AVI files? I know, it has low CPU, and codecs that are in avi just have too complicated compression algorithms. But anyway, can it be made through usage of some newer firmware from some other player?

2. I'm having a problem with that darn AMV Convert Tool. When I try to convert some divx film of 700 MB size to .avm, in status it says converting, but program isn't doing anything (0% CPU usage, and not frozen cause when I try to close it, it says something like "wait until encoding is complete")

Thanks for answers in advance

EDIT:
I figured out 2. problem, it has something to do with subtitles

1. No!

2. Try installing a newer version of AMV Convert Tool.

Hmm
Thanks for fast reply.
I have AMV Converter from MP3 Player Utilities 4.00
I tried to convert it without subtitles, and it went pretty easy, so my guess it has something to do with them.

Well, probably this is the case (subtitles). Latest version is 4.09 I think, but maybe there is a newer version again. I don't use video very often ...

Seems like there isn't a link to 4.00 version on site(I'm not sure about that "industrial flasher" thing), so upload would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Same problem again :(
Maybe its because sub isn't ASCII
I'm gonna experiment a bit later, this problem is getting annoying :P
