Postby nyam » Mon Aug 14, 2006 9:47 pm

Please help
I have a nano lookalike from e-bay( hong Kong) I cannot get int the music folders anymore. The files are still on the player because I can access them from my computer via the usb port.

When I press menu it starts to initialise but then goes back to the music icon on the main desktop.

I'm having the same problem!

Although my 2gb player is now only 128mb after formatting (got my money back though), it was working just fine (I actually like using it during my workouts). Anyhow I haven't used it for a month and now when I try to play music it won't get past Initialize after selecting Music mode.

Any ideas? Is there a reset button somewhere? I too can connect it to my PC and see my folders there and the files are intact. It appears the applications aren't loading or something...

I copied off all my music, then ran the format utility (available on this site) at low level put back my music recycled the power - and poof it worked!

Not sure what happened but this worked so I'm not questioning it.

I don't have to throw this thing away yet after all!

I have a similar problem. I simply can't chose any folders, and have to browse all files manually. I hope anybody can help.

I have the same problem with the chinese 4GB player (1GB after formatted).

The firmware version is 9.0.50. I think its a problem of this firmware version, because other 2GB with 9.0.48 has not problem with accessing folders.

If we cannot upgrade neither to install the 9.0.48 we have a big problem! :(

dont get the s1 thingy into trouble. dont ever have a firmware upgrade with the wrong version. hacked players have the possibility of malfunction. now the best thing you can do is backed-up your 9xx series FW using s1clone(found in then try upgrading the firmware by the same version.

Do not upgrade firmware unless really necessary. 99% chance to get trouble.
