Chipod format error ran through XP didn't change a thing ?

Postby aztec13 » Wed Sep 05, 2007 9:38 am

i had about half my chipod full(1 of 2 GB)A few AMV's and it was all working fine. Then all of the sudden a ton of files just vanished(but still take up the space?) I can't find them on the player or on the computer's disc device display. I have ubuntu Linux so I couldn't find any options to reformat so I tried it with XP this afternoon and it said it worked but it didn't even do the scan. I clicked to do the scan and the box came up just as fast saying it was done. Then I even tried defragmenting it just because it was right there and the scan didnt work and I was desperate. I cant find any available options or at least any safe ones. Any ideas I could use ?

You need to use either gparted or mkfs. Format to ext2 then vfat.
