Help, I have worked for a week!

Postby goodiebag » Thu Jun 22, 2006 3:34 pm

I have followed all the steps about 50+ times. I am missing something or I'm doomed to live with a blue screen .mp3 player that seems to start the same song everytime I turn it on. Any ideas as to what I could be doing wrong?
THanks

Hi there,
So for unlucky people like me who tried all firmwares for their MP-693C-SL-MAIN V1.3 with a blue screen, i finded this firmware witch work ... a little bit better :)
Ever blue tainted screen but with the contrast changed, you can something on the screen and it is a little more usable.
http://arase.free.fr/s1mp3/original.zip

For have a little chance to succeed, put your player in recovery mode (look the how to) flash the 3.5.37
http://arase.free.fr/s1mp3/3.5.37v2.1b_FM_for_recovery.fw
recovery full firmware and then flash the original.zip contained.
You will have a readable display (if need, try to swich the firmware in english trough firmware modifier and custom the lcd settings to have a clear display)
Good luck ... waiting to find THE working firmware ....

Thank you GetFlash!!! you rock!, I tried almost every firmware on the list and couldn't get my mp4 working, with some firmwares I had to recover it from dead with a short circuit in the memory.

I have a mp4 like this MP4 DIGITAL PLAYER FT-221, the board id is : MP-763C-SL V1.1 DATE: 6/12/05 , with a SAMSUNG 607 K9K8G08U0M (1GB) memory and main chip ATJ2085W.

I found and followed your instructions, first I flashed the full firmware and got my mp4 recognized like a removable disk without format and blue screen. Then I tried to flash the dump but i got some errors like " no device conected" so I formatted the memory with the mp4 utility, and then tried again to flash the dump and finally worked!!! Now I have my mp4 working with 3.5.37 firmware which is faster than the old one and I think the sound quality improved a lot too!!!, now I have more bass on my songs :D.

Just for you to know, never disconnect the drive from the USB port while the screen is on with the "transfer logo" on, that was how my mp4 got ******** but thanks to GetFlash it's back again, faster and better!

:D

I have tried following the steps posted but I'm stuck.

After trying for ages to short the pins, I succesfully installed the ADFU drivers but when I try upgrading the firmware, I get a "Flash no responding!" error about halfway through the process. My player is completely dead and I'm clueless as for where to go from here. Any ideas?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi

i have the same model mp4. i tried installing firmware on it and then the mp4 died and wouldn't switch on or be recognised by my computer. i followed the guid which if i am reading it correctly means unscrew the thing and then put it back together??? when i try to switch it on it still doesn't switch on and the computer doesn't find anything and no new hardware is found either, so what have i done wrong? i am a complete novice to this

thanks for any help that can be given

also i have another identical mp4 which works apart from when playing amv files. when you try changing the volume in the amv file the "vol" button simply reduced the volume rather than displaying a + - bar like when doing it in the radio or music sections? is this a fault and if so how do i solve it as i don't understand how firmware works either

hey guys....i was having the same problem as everyone...black screen caused from a dodgy firmware upgrade. i just fixed my mp4 player using madman's fw from this thread http://forum.s1mp3.org/viewtopic.php?t=3420

if you look through the thread, someone has posted a dump pack containing 3 fw's....the one i used is the madman one :d

hope one of those fw's works for you guys :d

Another Successful recovery

Postby Andy » Mon Jul 24, 2006 8:36 am

Hi All,

I've just fixed mine with a Dump that I made myself using an identical device.

I have two of these Nano'esque MP4 Digital Players I ruined. I ruined the 1st one flashing it with a Dump that claimed to be for the same Board ID and mine. There do appear to be an infinite number of variations and scary lack of compatibility on these ! (I Flashed it to try and reset the AMV player volume, i'd reduced it to zero and the button mapping wouldn't allow me to increase it again)

Anyway having tried every FW & BIN I could get my hands on I decided to buy a new one on ebay for next to nothing. I then extracted a firmware dump and applied it to the broken device and now I'm the happy owner of two working devices.

For those of you with one of these a dead device & with the board ID
MP-693C-SL MAIN V1.3 2005.12.14

and the appearance of

viewtopic.php?t=3420

You might want to try my dump file. It can't exactly do any harm now can it..?

Let me know know I'll email it to you.

Andy
