I'll post worldwide no problem these are not heavy.

Someone asked what help was given here; Someone kindly provided a initialisation firmware dump and guidance which I have used since to fix 600+ mp3 players.

Hi. Htel.
My Mp3 player say "No memory!".

I suspect that the chip is damage.
You could facilitate me one of those chips that you even have left available.
I would thank it.

Thank you.

Hey guys
Check your players firmware first, then upgrade that! If you have firmware of 3.0.xx or 3.2.xx players, they are commonly 64mb to 512mb. you have to check your memory type also. u have to know your memory type if you want to upgrade with new memory. one or double modules nand chip and small block or large block sizes are important to upgrade your memory. Sample: you have to set 1GB double modules nand memory (K9K8G08UOM samsung 2 modules) if your player have firmware 3.5.3x and your old memory is single module and large block 512mb (K9F4Gxxxxx samsung one module(check it in ATJ memory support list! PDF file is somewhere on mpxplayer.org and S1mp3.org)). The double modules memory drives pin 9 and pin 10. And ATJ2085 runs on pin 36 (to memory pin 9) and pin 37 (to memory pin 10). some player have no connection between ATJ pin 37 to memory pin 10, cause player have one module memory. Often all small block memory like 32 to 512mb nand. you have to choose correct memory If your firmware runs on small block or large block. sometimes you can update firmware at small block to large block memory if you have lucky!
Anyway, try it your selves... Goodluck! also sorry my eng :D
Thanks to you all

It bloody worked! This ridiculous idea works!!!!
I had a 256 MB crappy mp3 player (although a marvel of modern science in absolute terms) and I soldered a 512 MB flash memory that I got from a broken pen drive (it was even the same brand! what a lucky ******** I am) into the empty bay, and now I have 768 MB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is absolutely amazing.... It worths every single minute of this 5 hours I am going to be later to my date with my beloved bed.
I also recommend to put a piece of tape in between the two boards, it solves the reset problem due to static electricity.
I love you all, your ingenuity makes me feel proud of 99.99% of my DNA. Surely there's a Russian behind all this.. They are as clever as foxes in getting cheap electronic do unexpected things.. (e.g. Vostok I with Gagarin inside chewing Von Brawn's envy)

What player or product is this? I need one of these. Does that black connector port work without any problem?

Ive got a creative MUVO TX (256MB) it has a K9k2g08u0m YCB0. Would it be possible to remove this chip, and place two 1GB' chips instead? :)

ps, does the chip seller still have those 1GB chips? :)

-thanks

I think its easier to buy another one. Its very cheap. Take a look: http://dx.com/s/mp3+player (free worldwide shipping) and you may choose the memory you want!

This one is good and cheap too: http://dx.com/p/55326

Its not an easy task. After unsolder the old chip and solder the new one, you have to find the correct firmware to make it work again... As I said, its easier to buy another one. Use this old one as a gift. Its an useful option!

ahh, that complicates things eh

Is there a way to copy the current firmware? or just put the 1GB flash chip piggy backked on top of the other ? ive seen some pics of somethign like this?

Can the firmware be programmed through the usb, or do i need a special flash programmer?

I understand this is harder, but it sounds like fun too :)

thanks!

Thanks htel for the chip. I have sucessfully upgraded my Xerox issue mp3 player from 256m to 1g by removing the original flash mem. and replacing it with the 1g. I am also interested in seeing if anyone has any luck getting 2 - 1g chips to work. buy cialis
