Memory decreased, ONLY VOTE IF YOUR MEMORY HAS DECREASED!!!!

Postby ian_hawdon » Mon Nov 07, 2005 9:27 pm

only vote if your memory is decreased :D

Can you please answer the questions:

What was your memory before the decrease, and what was it after?

MP3 or MP4?

Your board number?

Also, in the pole above, state weather your chip was HYNIX or SAMSUNG. if you choose other, please specifiy what the maker is.

This research might help us figure out the what things affect these players.

P.S. the pole is set to never ending :D
Who is General Error and why is he reading my hard drive? :D

Memory before decrease = 1GB
Memory after decrease = 119MB (117MB with some firmwares)

MP3 player purchased Beijing, October 2005
Board number MP-683E-GC
Hynix HY27UF081G2M 1GB memory chip
ATJ2051 controller chip (not ATJ2085!)

Anyone got firmware for this?

If at first you *do* succeed...try to look like you meant it (and if it was a firmware upgrade, go buy a lotto ticket)!

I've 2 identical 1GB fake SONY NS-11 MP3 player, and both of them were working upto 996MB, i've tested it before, only the problem was corrouption of data after 500MBs when putting larger files. Both have the same memory chips.

memory of one player become 497MBs when I played with fdisk in Linux to make two partitions, and the C/H/S geometry also changed automatically. What I did were, I removed the older partition and created the new one.

Memory before decrease = 1GB
Memory after decrease = 497MBs (formated with the Mp3 player utility v1.46)

Board number ATJ 2085_MP3 06-20
Two non brand memory chips marked as "O2G A" one is soldered in CPU board and another is on LCD board, I dont know the leading charecter is a zero or a "O"
CPU ATJ2085
Firmware version as shown in the player V4.3-XN320 and dated 2005/04/18

Does anybody have any idea about these memory chips. My 2nd player is working fine and store more then 497MBs and records voice even it is 800MBs. I never played with it's firmware so its surely not a firmware issue.

that is the normal size of the chip 1Gb=1gigabit=128megabyte.
the controller doesn't matter.
go check the pdf file oon the Hynix site.
Things you can't get enough of --> harddrive space, memory, processor speed and video-3D rendering power.

The 01 after the NAND is the Gbit capacity. multiply by 1024, then divide by 8 to get MB.
