I've attached the dump.bin file to an email I sent to J_Kers^AT^Yahoo^DOT^co^DOT^uk

If it got lost in cyber-space let me know and I'll send it again.

I've had the player apart and the only info printed on the circuit board was partially obscured under the delicate ribbon cable connecting the LCD board ... it said ...

T100AfC-MAIN v3.3
2005.07.02

However ... the lower case "f" wasn't very clear and might have had a "1" very very close in front of it ie "1f" but with the 1 almost printed on top of the "f"

Coincidentally, when you go to "Firmware version" on the menu it says - "T100A1-FM-S" and there was another similar code on the LCD board (let me know if you need that code too). Perhaps this gives a clue about the "1f" situation !

Also let me know if you want me to scan/photo anything like the disassembled player or any details off the packaging ... There are a few details and firmware files over at these official support sites ...

http://www.iitronics.com/
http://www.inovixeu.com/

... but lots of folks seem to have killed their players with their firmware files :(

Hope this helps someone in some small way, keep up the great work :)

Thanks wladston :)

When corporations take our money then discard us because customer support just eats into their profit margins ... it's wonderful that good people like yourself and the other admins create communities like this where consumers can come together and create our own "self-help" groups.

PS. I stripped my IItronics iMP-11 again and dropped the PCB's onto my flatbed scanner. Had to Clone-Brush out a few dust specs that were on the glass and tinker with file-sizes for a while so that ImageShack would accept the pics but here are front and back views in case they are of some use in identifying boards for some other folks :)

Theyre not absolutely pin-sharp but I think they're clear enough for most purposes ;)

Hope this helps someone.

Sure thing DEskATH, I don't know of any long-term dump sites so I just used yousendit.com to send it to myself and here's the link for it ...

Link expired

It said ... "The file will be available for 7 days or a limited number of downloads." ... but it didn't say how many downloads it's limited to. Anyone else that wants to grab it while it's up please help yourselves ;)

NOTE: This is a RAW dump from my player ... I have NOT run "repair.bat" on it or altered it in ANY way. (apart from renaming it from "dump.bin" for identification purposes)

Good luck :D

I tried to repair the file, but S1fwx choked on it, saying it couldn't repair the file.
I've already mailed wiRe about this, and I await his reply.
jedOi, could you extract the file again?
I suspect something went wrong when you extracted it, because the file is also quite large.

As for the file-size ... perhaps it's a new breed of "Super-Firmware" where one-size-fits-all because when I had a poke around with "s1res.exe" there were a lot of graphics which aren't used on the iMP-11 at all ?!?!?

Anyhoo, hope this is a better file to work with than the last one ;)

Update: There's a very, very good chance that my board ID is indeed ...

T100A1fC-MAIN v3.3
2005.07.02

with the 1 in front of the f as previously suspected. I searched "T100AfC" on Google and it returned one result from a Portugese forum but they definitely have the 1 in their board ID so I reckon it's quite unlikely that there are 2 different boards withsuch similar codes ... wotcha reckon ?

Hi hendrixus,

Although they may look very similar, the board ID code is completely different, yours being MD215A-PC?-V1.2A.

You should only look for an original manufacturers firmware for your make and model of player or a file in the archive on s1mp3.org which matches your board number.

Changing the back-light colors on mine is as simple as pressing the mode-lever in on the main menu "SYS" and then pressing it in again on "Back color" and choosing one of the 7 options ...

If those options are not there then there is a good chance that the 7 colors are not available on the display hardware.

Hope this helps.
