This guy just helped me so much to recover my player (we've got the same model). It started when I (Patrick) gave him my Firmware firmware dump 3.5.37 which works fine on his player. I just wanted to try his old firmware on mine player, just to take a look and we both thougt there couldn't be any problem, because we have the same type of player. So for short, I put the 3.5.35 fw on my player and it worked, but when I tried to reflash my player, it didn't work and we tested many firmwares in almost 1 day... Finally I wanted to give up, but just a few minutes ago, FLASHGET send me an email with the link to this great firmware:

I tried it, like he recommended me to do and what can I say? IT'S ALIVE MUAHAHA!!! Amazing, this little mashine was almost dead and after Flashing it with that fw, I just had to Format it... Ok, the format-progress finished unsuccessfully, but it seems to me, that tha Player works great, just as nothing happened

Hi - your success story is giving me hope, however I am very new to this, so please treat my questions as though I am a three year old raised in a forest.

I have the same nano clone as you. Using the dead recovery guide I opened the player and have found the same information that you have.

I followed your excellent instructions but am now a little stuck and could use some guidence.

I got this far:
1. My device recognised by windows
2. My firmware updated by the update tool - used the same firmware you did
3. Windows recognises it as a flash drive
4. I have downloaded 3.5.35

5. I have no idea what the term 'flash your dump' means

6. I tried the update tool - got an error message
7. It has found my data on the disk, but some of it is corrupted. Do you have format hints.

How do you exactly 'flash your dump'

I have doing what you sugest .... windows recognize my MP4 .... but i have still this Fu****** Blue screen or black screen (when I puit the Firmware CDT sd4284-h_v2.0_7 = it's the version 3.042

I don't know what happened ... please help me.

when i attach it normally it detect as H: drive and when i try to format it it say write protected drive...

Short the pins again, tell it to look for the drivers in the MP3 utilities folder (usuall in the Program Files folder of your C drive)

Hello I have a model CK2694 MAIN V1.3 2006-04-17 It comes with firmware [/b]PMA300_006 2005/11/04 RYJ-5.5.35 2005/12/16.
I tried to update to 3.5.35 and It didn´t work, I revived it with 3.5.37v2.1b FM for recovery.fw but any dumps works with my MP4, thanks to good I have a backup of my dump and It lives again.

All the dumps od this topic din´t work with me and the http://www.scrub50187.com/MP4.html neither.

Anyone can help me??? I want to update my MP4 to the newest version PLEASE!!!!!

My player is a MP-693C-SL V1.3 1Go (looks like an ipod nano)
I tried to change firmware because the original one sux ...
So i used the upgrade tool v3.06 wich was delivered with the player.
After the first flash, it was still reconized by windows but only display black.
I follow exaclty your a recovery plan an succeded to turn it in recovery mode and flash with this firmware : 3.5.37v2.1b 20FM for recovery.zip
Flash works but my player still display a black or dark blue screen ...
Does anybody have an idea ?

After flashing with the recovery firmware yo need to flash with yout "dump.bin" backup get by the s1fwx_v26 before you flash your ipod nano, If you haven´t got any you can try the two dumps that are posted in this topic, if until this your ipod clonde don`t want to revive try the other dumps in the "firmware list page".
I have the same problem as you and I revive it with my dump backup.
