Hi from a Dead ATJ2091H

Postby Poeta_do_caos » Thu Jul 12, 2007 3:13 am

Hello people. How are you all going? :)

Well... My history is one more of the thousands we have here: I bought an s1mp3 MP3 player, and it came with problems. I cannot send it back to the manufacturer, then, I'm trying to fix it by myself.

The player came with a strange noise in the background. I thought it was only the phones, but it wasn't. I changed the phones, and the strange noise kept going.

Then i slept, and in the other day, the player lcd display informations were truncated. I tried then to update the Firmware.

Updating it (with the wrong firmware, maybe), the mp3 stopped being recognized in Windows which started to recognize de mp3 as an "unknown USB Device".

I downloaded S1Clone then, and installed the usb drivers from there. Anyway, The player is still dead, and the "MP3 upgrade tool" doesn't recognizes que connection of the mp3 to the pc.

What can I do then?? Is there anything I can do to "Salvate" my mp3? Pleaseeeeeeee =P Haha =P =)

DETAIL: The Lcd doesn't have have it's light (Blue) anymore, but some truncated things appear in it lcd.

How can I do?? :-|

Thank you very much. May Good bless you all! See ya!

eBay?

See dead recovery guide (http://www.s1mp3.org) and then try to find correct firmware. You probably must go trough many different versions until you find one that works. Good luck.

Could you please check for hacked memory (is it a 4GB player, memory chip number)?

Well, first thanks so much for your reply.

My player is 1gb.

Anyway, I installed the drivers and now I saw that it'srecognizing the mp3 player as a DVD drive unit (It appears here as H:\). I just don't know what I can do now, cause in the mp3 player utilities (I have the 4.06 version), the Disk Manager and the "Upgrade tool" says that there's no device connected. What can I do to flash the memory of it with the firmware (I think I finally found it).

I've already read the guide u told me and it didn't helped me much. I'll read it again anyway.

If anyone can help me with this situation, I thank so much!

I think you need to shorten the memory chip. Could you also write the memory chip number here (as you have to open the player anyway).

Sure!

The number is

ATJ2091H
F9046FA 59Q

The Firmware I had was the 9.0.49 i think... or 48 (Which i cannot find yet...)

Will I really have to do the short circuit?

Thanks, but that was the chipset with the processor, not memory :D

It should be a big Hynix or Samsung chip.

Ok man, I got the number.

It's a

SAMSUNG 640
K9G8G08U0M
PCB0

CSH078PX

And the s1clone didn't work... And created an image with 983 mb in my hard-drive, lol =P

I unnistalled the mp3player and installed again, with the same s1clone usb drivers, and it recognizes as a DVD drive. Had no success yet. Do u have any suggestions? =/

Thx, since now!

Yes, S1clone make a copy of the whole memory, so the file is 1GB big. Well, the only solution known for now is to try any matching firmware you find. But from the chip (ATJ-2091) I think it will need a series 9 firmware. Did you looked at the links I gave?

I asked for the memory to see if it is one more case of hacked memory. Well, this time it is not, K9G8G08U0M is a 1GB chip.

EDIT: changed to correct numbers. Sorry for my mistake.

It's a ATJ2091, it uses V 9.x.x firmware.

Edit: No problem Banana ;) .
