F/W 3.5.35 has sub-folder support

Postby scrub50187 » Wed Mar 15, 2006 2:26 am

F/W 3.5.35 has sub-folder support, it will go all the way to 6 sub-folders. I just made a folder within a folder till the player wouldn't open anymore. Only thing is that after the first folder, it won't display the next folder unless the next folder has one in it too. Ex. I have a folder with 2 sub-folders....folder 3 inside folder 2, and folder 2 inside folder 1. Now you won't be able to see folder 3 unless folder 3 also has another folder inside it. If you just make a empty folder in the deepest or last of your subfolders, it will open them all the way through folder 6, if folder 6 has a empty folder inside it. I hope I explained this good enough for the non-technical people to understand.

I am realy liking this new F/W. A lot of bugs are fixed, Has anyone tried E-mailing Visual land and asking them where they get their firmwares or who makes them?? Although I found some bugs in the F/W there are still ways around it. like the screen on when charging, you can turn it off but it is tricky so this realy isn't a bug, but more of a convience, or ease of use issue. I think they made it like this so you can tell when your player is plugged in, but 3.2.13 turned the screen off after a little bit where this F/W doesn't when it is plugged in. As far as the 99 file limit, I haven't tested it yet, no need for me to, since I don't have any albums that have more than 99 songs in it. But in the next few days if I get some time I will test it, I just have mid-terms and alot of homework before spring break starts for my college. I have the F/W I took off of my player for download on my site if you want to look at it. I don't know if it will actually upload to another player.....I am not going to try it because I don't want to kill my working player. But if someone has a 1.5" player, it might be worth a try.

I can confirm, I have that version too. But when the 3.x.y (the one without folder limitations) will be released, how will we be able to upgrade?

I have this firmware too, and you cannot do more then 99 files.. Also it seems my player cannot play a folder, is this because of the firmware? I can only play everything in root and thats really annoying..
